the intersection of faith & choice

Our Foundational Statement: We are KRCRC, people of faith and conscience who believe in reproductive justice, abortion rights, and in every pregnant person’s right to have agency over their own body.

Our faiths teach us that we are called to make the best decisions we can about our own well-being and the well-being of those who depend on us. We understand that we are called by our faiths to offer compassion and support to those who may face difficult choices involving pregnancy, abortion, adoption, and parenting. We believe that the pregnant person, with the wisdom of their own doctor and their own faith, is best suited to make the decision that is best for them.

Our faith traditions support our beliefs as do the facts about faith and choice.

FACT 1: Many mainstream religions support people's right to make decisions about their reproductive lives and health.

"Majorities across most religious traditions say that abortion should be legal in all or most cases. Support is highest among Unitarian Universalists (89%), religiously unaffiliated Americans (82%, up from 76% in 2010), Jewish Americans (80%), Buddhists (79%), Hindus (78%), and other non-Christians. Smaller majorities of Black Protestants (70%, up from 56% in 2010), white mainline/non-evangelical Protestants (65%, down from 69% in 2024), Hispanic Catholics (62%), white Catholics (57%, down from 62% in 2024), and Muslims (54%) also say abortion should be legal in most or all cases."- Public Religion Research Institute, 2025

OUR allied partners

KRCRC works with an ever-expanding network of pro-faith and pro-choice organizations, faith communities, and individuals committed to reproductive freedom.

We actively support the work of our allied partners at local, state, and national levels. We collaborate on events, community education sessions, panel discussions, faith-rooted actions, demonstrations, and legislative advocacy. We share educational resources and help connect Kentuckians to trusted pro-choice partners.

Together, we amplify each other’s voices, strengthen collective impact, and ensure that people of faith and conscience are seen and heard in the repro rights movement.

our faith partner pledge

KRCRC is proud to be a signatory to the Faith Partner Pledge from Faithful Majority. In doing so, we join organizations of faith across the country in affirming that each of us should be free to make personal decisions about our reproductive health guided by our own faith, values, and well-being — not by a politician’s beliefs.

As part of this commitment, KRCRC speaks out against the manipulation of religion to justify abortion bans and restrictions that harm our communities and violate our religious freedom. We stand with the faithful majority—people of compassion, dignity, and justice—who refuse to let faith be weaponized and who work together to protect reproductive freedom for all.
