Rev. Steve Clapp, co-author
Faith Matters: Teenagers, Religion, and Sexuality
Rev. Steve Clapp is the president of Christian Community,
a research organization in Ft. Wayne, Indiana dedicated to
researching and improving various areas of congregational
life.
Steve will share the important research he recently conducted
with teens across a variety of congregations and how it can
shape sexuality education in our congregations.
An ordained minister in the United Church of Christ, Rev.
Steve Clapp, co-authored the book, Faith Matters: teenagers,
religion, and sexuality. Copies of the book will be available

Keeping
it Real Workshop Presenter
Courtney
Renee Avery is the Midwest Regional Coordinator for the National
Black Church Initiative and director of a Chicago-based rape
crisis center. Ms. Avery will conduct a workshop on the Keeping
it Real curriculum, a model for faith-based teen dialogue
on sex and sexuality.

Sex
Education: A Reality Check"
Lunchtime
speaker and panel moderator, Bani Hines Hudson, will talk
about the realities from her experience "in the field."
Ms. Hudson is a community development specialist and consultant
with expertise in family sex education, women and gender issues,
and diversity programming. She promotes comprehensive sex
education and reproductive justice in collaboration with families,
faith communities, organizations and the University of Louisvilles
Saturday Academy.
